Nollywood Star Patience Ozokwor Calls For Understanding For Pope After Burst Of Anger

Celebrated Nollywood actress, Patience Ozokwor has called for understanding for Pope Francis after the holy father was called out for smacking the hand of a woman among the crowd greeting him at the Vatican after a New Year’s Eve liturgy.

The Holy Father after the burst of anger to free himself from the woman’s grip apologised in his next public outing on New Year day during his address to the faithful.

“Many times we lose our patience,” he said. “I do, too, and I’m sorry for yesterday’s bad example.”

The celebrated actress who appeared on the stage of TVC’s Your View drew a distinction with a similar incident recently in Nigeria when a fan rushed on to Tiwa Savage while performing on stage and embraced and fell her down. Ms Savage shrugged off the incident and moved on.

“He took a lot but it also took him a lot to say he is sorry,” the actress said saying that.

“Our reactions are different because our positions are different. Tiwa Savage did what she did because she was on stage and needed people to be part of her show,” Ms. Ozokwor said.

The hosts of the programme, however, did not ask Mrs. Ozokwor how the onscreen character would react if faced with such a situation.

Mrs. Ozokwor who lighted up the programme with her humour was distinct from her “wicked” woman character that has enthralled her to her millions of fans who severally called in to the programme on Thursday.
