Funke Akindele reacts as Deyemi Okanlawon endorses her

Nollywood actress Funke Akindele, has expressed her gratitude to fellow actor, Deyemi Okanlawon, for showing her support in her bid to become the Deputy Governor of Lagos State under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The actress has faced criticism and division from her colleagues since declaring her political ambition.

However, Deyemi Okanlawon, who is not affiliated with any political party, has expressed his support for her in an open letter.

In the letter, Deyemi acknowledges Funke’s iconic status in the entertainment industry and her contributions to charitable causes. He goes on to validate her desire to serve in governance and wishes her God’s abundant grace.

He wrote:

“OPEN LETTER TO FUNKE AKINDELE
My dear sister @funkejenifaakindele,
For years Il have observed you, first from a distance as an iconic colleague then up close as a mentor, and you have proven yourself in your career, business and the
many charity and youth programs you support.
As an outstanding Nigerian woman your desire to serve through governance is valid and I sincerely wish you God’s abundant Grace!”.

Funke Akindele responded to the letter, thanking Deyemi for his support and hoping that God’s will would prevail.
