Super Eagles Players To Watch Out For This Weekend
By Ekene Dike
The European continent has been littered with talented Nigerian players who are plying the trade in different clubs and the football delirium never stops.
Victor Osimhen of Lille in France has been scoring goals for fun, Wilfred Ndidi had been solid in the defensive midfield for high flying Leicester in the English Premier League and Samuel Chukwueze’s endless display of tricks with the ball has set La Liga on fire.
SAMUEL CHUKWUEZE (VILLAREAL SPAIN):
This amazing dribbler doesn’t disappoint in the aspect of causing havoc in the opposition defense line. Apart from the dribbling ability, he offers something extra by scoring goals and providing assists. The incredible Eagle will prepare his wings in order to soar high for the yellow submarine against a shabby Espanyol defense who sit in the relegation zone.
Indeed, a countless number of talents from Nigeria are keeping viewers entertained at the moment. Without further ado, these are some Nigerian players that could keep us excited and fly the country’s flag high this weekend:
WILLIAM TROOST-EKONG (UDINESE, ITALY):
This stable defender has been a major catalyst that has catapulted Udinese to 12th position in the Italian Serie A.
He faces a real test this weekend as he is expected to tame Zlatan Ibrahimovic when they take on Ac Milan. The game will be very tough at the San Siro.
OLA AINA (TORINO, ITALY):
This attacking right full back is a specialist in the overlapping aspect of the modern game. The skillful assist provided for Odion Ighalo in the AFCON 2019 match against Burundi is hard to forget.
He has also stamped his authority as one of the best right backs in the Serie A. Torino travel to Sassuolo this weekend, with the aim of securing three points and this energetic right back can help them achieve their objectives with his inviting crosses and complete tackles.
KELECHI IHEANACHO (LEICESTER CITY, ENGLAND):
Despite Leicester’s painful loss to Southampton, the Nigerian exhibited a wonderful performance. His venomous left foot cannot be underestimated. In the FA Cup he helped to save Leicester from elimination.
He has also helped the Foxes to keep the title hope alive in the past and he has stepped up to the occasion during the absence of Jamie Vardy. He will be able to produce the magic against Burnley this weekend.
EBERECHI EZ QUEEN PARKS RANGERS:
Queen Park Rangers have been dreadful in recent games. This hasn’t stopped Eze from doing what he knows best in the aspect of entertaining the fans with his capability to deceive defenders through the magic in his legs. Rangers will be hoping to bounce back from their recent defeats when they host Leeds this weekend.
The dreadlocked dribbling speed-star will be hoping to help his team get back to winning ways.
