Iyabo Ojo Under Fire After Endorsing LP’s Rhodes-Vivour

Nigerian actress Iyabo Ojo has faced criticism from fans after publicly showing her support for the Labour party governorship candidate, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, as the next Lagos State Governor.

The actress, who has a large following on social media, posted her endorsement on Instagram, where she urged Lagosians to vote for the best candidate.

However, many Nigerians have expressed their displeasure over her choice, questioning whether it was based on emotions rather than the candidate’s credentials.

Some have also criticized her for supporting a relatively inexperienced candidate for a mega-city like Lagos.

One netizen commented, “This your choice is based on emotions. Obi is better as president doesn’t make all LP members the best. Experience counts, Lagos is too big for anyone to start learning work with.”

Some have also defended Iyabo Ojo’s right to support whoever she chooses, arguing that other celebrities have endorsed different candidates without facing the same level of criticism.

Despite the backlash, the actress has stood by her endorsement, emphasizing that her main concern is for a better Lagos. In her Instagram post, she wrote, “Let the best man win. A better Lagos is what we pray for, no fight, no hate.”
