Fighting Crime: Fashola Advocates Return Of Landlord Associations

The Minister of Works and Housing, Raji Fashola, has called for the return of residents/landlord associations as means of tackling crimes in the society’.

Fashola who made the suggestion at the United Action for Change public lecture on Thursday expressed support on the recent decision by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s ‘administration to restrict the movement of Okada riders in the state.

He said, that motorcycles cannot be preferred means of movement in Centre of Excellence.

The former governor of Lagos State cited security challenges posed by motorcycle operators as one of the reasons why allowing them to operate freely has become intolerable.

According to him, some of the riders have used Okada to perpetuate a lot of crimes in the society like kidnapping of children, bank robbery among others.

Fashola called for the return of residents and landlords associations, which according to him, could eliminate crimes in our society.
