Court Strikes Out Double Nomination Petition Against Tinubu
The Presidential Election Petition Court, PEPC has struck out the petition filed against the election of President Bola Tinubu by APM on the premise of double nomination of his running mate, Senator Kashim Shettima.
The court in the majority judgment upheld that the assertion of double nomination was a pre-election matter and that the petitioner lacks the locus standi to file the petition being an internal matter of the nominating political party.
GWG.ng reports that the judgments on the petitions by the PDP and the Labour Party are yet to be determined.
GWG.ng reports that Vice President Shettima who was in court smiled the moment that Justice Haruna Tsammani gave the indication of the PEPC inclination on the double nomination.

Vice President Kashim Shettima, Femi Gbajabimila, were all present in the Court of Appeal complex, venue of the presidential election petition court (PEPC) for the judgment in the petitions challenging the election of. President Bola Tinubu.
Also present in court are Dr Abdullahi Ganduje, APC National chairman, governors of Bauchi, Yobe, Kogi, Ekiti, Imo, Nassarawa, Festus Keyamo and Nuhu Ribadu, National security adviser to the president.
The presidential election petition court had on Monday fixed today for the judgments in petitions filed by Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) it’s candidate and Labour Party and it’s presidential candidate.
The third petition was filed by the Allied Peoples Movement (APM).
NAN reports that there is heavy security presence at the appellate court.
