The Presidential Election Petition Court, PEPC has commenced the process to deliver judgment in the petitions filed against President Bola Tinubu by three of his challengers with unarmed troops of Niger Delta activist, Asari Dokubo hovering around the court premises in their chants for the president.

GWG.ng reports that Tinubu who is out of the country is represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima and APC national chairman, Dr Umar Ganduje.

Though Peter Obi is absent he is represented by his national chairman of Labour Party, Julius Abure. Neither Atiku nor his running mate, Senator Ifeanyi Atiku is in court. However, present is the acting national chairman of the PDP, Umar Damagum.

However, their counsels are fully represented.

Meanwhile, youths dressed in black and red attire branded with the name of the ex-militant leader Asari Dokubo have taken positions close to the court in the vicinity of the Bullet Building near the court.

The Asari Dokubo troops carried placards and chanted in solidarity with Tinubu a safe distance from the PEPC hearing.

Some of the inscriptions on the placards said, ‘Niger Deltans stand with the mandate given to BAT by over 200 million Nigerians’, ‘President Tinubu loves Niger Delta’, and ‘Thank you Tinubu for restoring the Niger Delta Ministry’.

GWG.ng reports that the Muhammadu Yakubu led INEC had returned Tinubu as winner of the presidential election.

Atiku and Obi had, however, taken Tinubu to court asserting among others that Tinubu was ineligible to contest having been fined for money laundering in the United States, failing to win 25% of the votes in the FCT among others.
