Renowned author and former aide to Former President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri, has taken to Twitter to criticize Pastor Tunde Bakare over his recent comments regarding the late artist Mohbad.

Omokri questioned Bakare’s stance, citing the biblical verse Romans 12:15, which encourages empathy and mourning with those who are grieving.

In a recent sermon in Leicester, United Kingdom, Pastor Tunde Bakare had spoken about the late singer, Mohbad, and his actions while alive, suggesting that his choices may have led to his untimely death.

Omokri’s Twitter post seemed to challenge Bakare’s judgment and questioned whether Bakare himself had not associated with politicians who have been criticized in the past.

The tweet from Omokri reads: “Pastor Bakare, What Happened To ‘Mourn With Those Who Mourn’-Romans 12:15? Have You Yourself Not Associated With Bad Politicians?”

The post garnered significant attention on social media, sparking debates about the role of empathy and understanding, especially when discussing the unfortunate demise of a young artiste.

The reply by Reno Omokri who had in the past been described as a pastor taking on another pastor, Tunde Bakare over his comments on Mohbad give fillip to the different perceptions of pastors in the public space.
