The former Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, late Abba Kyari has again become a subject of debate on the microblogging platform, Twitter, following reports that he approved over 150 memos without the President’s approval.

The Guardian on Sunday, reported that Buhari may have directed the new Chief of Staff, Professor Ibrahim Agboola Gambari to cancel all such appointments and approvals.

“Though no reason was given for the President’s alleged action, however, reports indicated that no less than 150 memos without the President’s authorization may have been uncovered.”

Prior to Kyari’s death, there were insinuations that the former Chief of Staff was the de facto President, with a handful of revelations in the public domain to affirm that he controlled almost every issue in the presidency.

Kyari was widely perceived as the engine room of the cabal that had immeasurable influence over the president.

The new revelation has strengthened the views of the existence of a cabal that acted outside the president’s remit.

The public spat between the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami, and the Chairman of Nigeria Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, over office space again set tongue wagging on the competency of the president.

Some social commentators opined that if Kyari were alive, such show of Impropriety by the two officials appointed by the same government, would not have occurred.

With the latest report on Kyari, some Twitter users further argued that the president is not in charge of the affairs of the country.

@jacksonpbn tweeted: “How can Abba Kyari alone approve over 150 memos without Buhari’s knowledge? Now the new Chief of Staff has been asked by Buhari to cancel all such memos. With this, those who got illegal memos from Kyari Better start running away now. Ndi ara!”

@firsyladyship tweeted: “Abba Kyari is dead and is things fall apart. Madam Abike and Pantami can now enter the market square and entertain us.”

@henryshield tweeted: “Where exactly was General Buhari when Late Abba Kyari was giving out those appointments and signing documents not approved by him?”

@obi_Nwosu tweeted: “We are going to be hearing about Abba Kyari until the end of this administration. Who wants money for popcorn?”

@Ceorhemz tweeted: “Abba Kyari’s death created a big vacuum. The country is currently on Autopilot. The president is docile & unhealthy. The SGF is overiding the V. P. The duties of the VP have been transfered to a newly created ministry. Two appointees exchanging blows on Twitter.”

@Oma_igbala1 tweeted: “Late CoS who some claimed he was only being a loyal and good friend to President Buhari was only taking advantage of Buhari as a friend. Where is @renoomokri, you may like to know that over 150 memos and approval done by late Abba Kyari without Buhari knowledge has been canceled.”

@baboyed1000 tweeted: “Forget the smokescreen, it is not @MBuhari that is reversing the appointments or the approvals. A new sheriff is in town and he is taking charge. Abba Kyari’s enemies won’t be his and as such, he has his own people who can take care of business and extract juice too. Doomed!”

@oma_igbala1 tweeted: “So Gambari reversed and cancelled about 150 appointments made by late Abba Kyari. Sigh

Apparently, Kyari carried out some tasks without the knowledge of Mr. President.

Public office is transient.”

@FS_Yusuf_ tweeted: “A Danfo Conductor manages his role far better than d President of Nig?? The Guardian reports that no less than 150 memos for appointments & approvals, signed by late Abba Kyari without d President’s authorization. D next President ll hav to pick Nig from d bottom of d Atlantic.”

@MalachyOdo1 tweeted: “Pantami and Abike’s public fight on Twitter confirms what we have always known. Abba Kyari is dead and there’s no one in charge.”
