Kemi Olunloyo Warns 2Baba Over Comments on Trump Assassination Attempt
Investigative journalist Kemi Olunloyo has issued a stern warning to Nigerian music icon 2Baba regarding his comments on the attempted assassination of former US President Donald Trump.
Olunloyo took to her Facebook page to caution the veteran singer, urging him to cease discussing the Trump shooting. She warned that continued comments could result in serious repercussions, including a potential visa ban for 2Baba, his wife Annie, and their children, without any explanation from US authorities. She advised 2Baba to issue an apology to mitigate the risk.
In her post, Olunloyo emphasized the gravity of the situation:
“WARNING TO TUFACE IDIBIA📌❌🇺🇸
“Tuface, please stop talking about US security regarding the Trump shooting. You, Annie, and the kids could suddenly face a visa ban with no explanation. Stop playing with the State Dept and Secret Service. Mr. Trump was SHOT‼️ Even his Democrat counterparts know that. Though Trump is a pro-gun president with heavy NRA support, he does not condone gun violence. I’m a gun violence activist among other things. Two people were hit by that same bullet and died.”
Olunloyo further drew a parallel to the assassination of late General Murtala Muhammad in 1976, highlighting the seriousness of gun violence. She also reminded 2Baba of a past incident where he was shot by robbers on Airport Road, an event she reported on extensively, helping to bring international attention to his plight.
She cautioned that the US State Department now monitors social media handles and that blogs have already spread 2Baba’s comments. She advised him to apologize in a new statement, offering a $5000 PR tip, and warned that failure to do so could jeopardize his music career and impact his family and team.
Olunloyo concluded by stressing the potential consequences if Trump were to win another term, underscoring the importance of heeding her warning.
As the situation develops, the music community and fans of 2Baba will be watching closely to see how he responds to Olunloyo’s cautionary advice.
