BREAKING: Shock As Popular Islamic Singer Dies

Popular Islamic singer Rukayat Gawat has died to the shock of the music community.

Rukayat, known for her inspiring Islamic songs, was announced dead on the morning of Tuesday, September 24, 2024. The exact cause of her death is still unknown.

The news was confirmed by Jubril Gawat, a family member and media aide to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu. He shared the news in a tweet early that morning. In his post, he quoted a verse from the Quran, saying, “Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return,” (Quran 2:156).

The announcement has received a lot of attention, with many followers and friends expressing their condolences online.

Rukayat’s burial will take place later on Tuesday following Islamic customs and traditions.

The late singer was married to Alhaji Shakiru Oyefeso, an insurance expert. Rukayat Gawat was respected as one of the prominent Islamic musicians in Nigeria.
