PDP Governors Show Solidarity As Fubara Inaugurates New LG Chairmen (Video)

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has officially inaugurated the newly elected chairmen of the 23 local government areas, following the Local Government Council election held on Saturday.

The swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected local government chairmen by Gov Fubara took place on Sunday at the Executive Council Chambers of the Government House in Port Harcourt with the chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Governors Forum, Bala Mohammed.

The presence of the PDP Governors’ Forum chairman is beleived to be a demonstration of the support of the party’s governors for Fubara in the battle of wits with his predecessor, Nyesom Wike.

GWG.ng reports that out of the 23 chairmen, 22 emerged from the Action Peoples Party (APP), while one was from the Action Alliance (AA), as declared by the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC).

During his address, Governor Fubara congratulated the new chairmen on their electoral success and urged them to prioritize the welfare of their communities, emphasizing the importance of fulfilling their campaign promises. He reminded them of the responsibilities that come with their new positions and encouraged them to work diligently for the progress of their local areas.

The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum, who was present to show his support.

Each chairman was accompanied by a guest, as stipulated by the state government.
