Breaking: Chief Judge Passes Away
Ekiti State has been thrown into mourning following the death of its Chief Judge, Justice Oyewole Adeyeye, whose passing was confirmed on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, by the judiciary’s Chief Registrar, Olanike Adegoke.
In a statement issued by Michael Oba, the Public Relations Officer of the Ekiti State Judiciary, Adegoke paid heartfelt tribute to Justice Adeyeye, highlighting his unwavering dedication to justice and his profound impact on the state’s judiciary.
“Justice Adeyeye was a respected jurist who dedicated his life to upholding the principles of fairness, equity, and justice,” Adegoke said. “The contributions of the late CJ to the judiciary and Ekiti State as a whole are immeasurable. His legacy will be deeply missed.”
Justice Adeyeye, born in 1960 in Araromi Ugbesi, Ekiti East Local Government Area, was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1986. He served in various capacities in the judiciary before being appointed Chief Judge of Ekiti State in October 2021, a role he held with distinction until his passing.
His legacy of integrity and commitment to justice remains a beacon in Ekiti State’s legal community, where he will be remembered for his steadfast dedication and exemplary service.
