Trump states

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has achieved significant victories across several crucial states in the 2024 U.S. presidential election, bolstering his bid for a return to the White House.

With these wins, Trump has secured critical electoral votes that put him in a strong position as he faces off against Democratic challenger Joe Biden.

GWG.ng reports that Trump is doing very well even in some Blue States including Minnesota and even in the swing state of Georgia.

The stunning performance by Trump who as at 5.00 am Nigerian time had secured more than 200 electoral votes with Harris still less than 90 has left the vice president’s camp largely mum. Kamala Harris is, however, very hopeful of turning the lead with California and other blue states yet to turn in.

Trump’s Campaign Message and Strategy

Trump’s campaign has been centered around assertive policies on immigration, economic reform, and national security. He has focused on reducing immigration, enhancing border security, and prioritizing American jobs and safety. His economic strategy advocates for tax cuts, deregulation, and job creation, with a particular emphasis on reviving U.S. manufacturing and reducing dependence on foreign products.

On national security, Trump has promised to strengthen the U.S. military and expand global counter-terrorism efforts. His messages have resonated strongly with his base, and with ballots still being counted, his victories in key regions have added intensity to the race.

States Won by Donald Trump So Far

As of now, Trump has won several states, contributing to his growing electoral vote tally.

Texas

Trump’s victory in Texas, which holds 40 electoral votes, was widely expected. Texas has leaned Republican in recent presidential elections, and Trump’s win in the state adds to his consistent dominance. In 2020, he won Texas by 6 percentage points and by 9 points in 2016. This year’s victory solidifies Texas as a crucial state for any presidential candidate.

Ohio

Trump’s win in Ohio, with 16 electoral votes, marks another important achievement. Ohio, historically a swing state, has shifted in favor of Republicans in recent years. Trump won Ohio by more than 8 points in both 2016 and 2020. The state, which once leaned Democrat, has become a Republican stronghold. This time, Trump’s victory was further reinforced by his selection of Ohio Senator JD Vance as his vice-presidential running mate, strengthening his ties to the state.

Wyoming

In Wyoming, Trump continues his dominance, having secured the state’s three electoral votes. Trump has consistently won Wyoming by large margins in previous elections, including 2020 and 2016. Despite some opposition from former Representative Liz Cheney, who endorsed Kamala Harris in 2024, Wyoming remains solidly in Trump’s corner.

Louisiana

Trump won Louisiana, securing 8 electoral votes, continuing his strong performance in the state. Louisiana has been a Republican stronghold for decades, with the state last voting for a Democratic president in 1996 when Bill Clinton won.

South Dakota

Trump’s victory in South Dakota was also projected, with the state awarding him 3 electoral votes. South Dakota has been a reliable Republican state for years, having supported Trump by large margins in both 2016 and 2020. The state’s political leanings make it a secure part of Trump’s electoral path.

North Dakota

Trump also clinched North Dakota, securing another 3 electoral votes. North Dakota, consistently a Republican state, backed Trump in both previous elections. His strong support was bolstered by Governor Doug Burgum, one of his prominent allies.

Arkansas

Trump has now secured Arkansas’s 6 electoral votes for the third consecutive election. With solid backing from influential figures like Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders, Arkansas remains a Republican stronghold. Trump’s victories in the state date back to the 1996 elections when Bill Clinton was reelected.

Florida

In Florida, Trump secured 30 electoral votes, continuing his success in a state that has increasingly leaned Republican in recent years. Florida, which was once a battleground state, has not voted for a Democrat since Barack Obama’s win in 2012.

Tennessee

Tennessee awarded Trump 11 electoral votes, maintaining its Republican tradition. The state has supported the GOP in every election since the 1990s, and Trump’s victory here further cements his dominance.

Mississippi

Trump won Mississippi’s 6 electoral votes, continuing the state’s Republican streak that dates back to 1976. With widespread Republican support, Trump solidified his lead in Mississippi.

South Carolina

Trump took South Carolina’s 9 electoral votes for the third consecutive election. The state, a long-time Republican stronghold, has not voted for a Democratic candidate since 1976.

Oklahoma

Trump’s victory in Oklahoma, with 7 electoral votes, was almost inevitable, as the state has not supported a Democrat since 1964. This victory further strengthens Trump’s standing in the race.

Alabama

In Alabama, Trump secured 9 electoral votes, marking his third consecutive win in the state. Alabama has been a Republican stronghold since 1976, with its last Democratic win coming from Jimmy Carter.

West Virginia

Trump also won West Virginia, securing 4 electoral votes. He has dominated the state, winning every county in 2016 and 2020. His support in West Virginia remains strong as he clinched the victory once again.

Indiana

Trump continues his success in Indiana, winning the state’s 11 electoral votes for the third time. Indiana has been a reliably Republican state for decades, and Trump’s victory here is in line with the state’s long history of GOP support
