Controversy As ‘Photo, Video Of Nigerian Lawmaker’ With N1b Cash Stirs Twitter Storm

Controversy is swirling around pictures and a video of the deputy minority whip of the House of Representatives, Aliyu Sani Madakin-Gini that showed him supposedly surrounded by a mountain of naira notes estimated by some to be up to N1 billion putting focus on Northern politicians.

GWG.ng reports that the controversial photo and video were debunked by some to have been photoshopped and the video as having been edited to put the lawmaker in distress.

However, the controversy has been deepened by the reluctance of the lawmaker to react to the controversial photos and video.

Even more, some are also insinuating that the photo and video whether true or not were released to embarrass the lawmaker who is one of a handful of partisans in the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP that have been named in the crisis in the Kano State chapter of the party.

GWG.ng reports that when the pictures first surfaced, they were debunked by some X users who claimed that the pictures were photoshopped on the claim that he was too close to the mountain of naira notes.

However, the controversy took another dimension when some x users released a video of the event where the event reportedly took place showing the lawmaker handling the notes.

The pictures and video have led to the trend, Northern Politicians. The trend suggests that politicians from that Northern part of the country are more concerned about self-enrichment than public service.

GWG.ng, however, reports that Rep Madakin-Gini who is reported to have amassed a fortune before he entered the House of Representatives recently empowered hundreds of his constituents. He has in the face of the controversy kept mum while the debate rages on.
