Sunday Igboho Wants To Go Solo Against Bandits
By Benjamin Abioye
Yoruba Nation activist, Sunday Igboho, has expressed his willingness to confront bandits hiding in forests across the South-West region if granted permission by the government.
In a statement released on Thursday, Igboho voiced his frustration over the continuous attacks, killings, and rapes perpetrated by bandits in the region.
He emphasized his readiness to defend his people, particularly innocent farmers, from these violent acts. “I can’t fold my arms and refuse to stop the marauding bandits and herdsmen attacking, raping, and killing my people engaging in farming and other legitimate activities in various communities,” Igboho stated.
Sunday Igboho vowed to take action against the bandits and rogue herders who have infiltrated the forests and communities of the South-West, provided the authorities give their approval. “I will go after the bandits and herdsmen lurking in the forests and some communities in the South-West, provided the government gives me the go-ahead to do so,” he added.
Igboho stressed his unwavering commitment to protecting his kinsmen from harm. “I am always ready to defend and protect my kinsmen anywhere in the South-West against the inimical activities of bandits and rogue herders, who have already infiltrated our forests,” he said.
Condemning the violence inflicted on farmers by the bandits, Sunday Igboho described it as a cruel and unjustifiable act. He called on the government and other stakeholders to take immediate action to ensure the safety of citizens. “It is callous and unjustifiable for anyone or group of people to unleash violence on innocent farmers earning their living anywhere in Nigeria. Government and other relevant stakeholders must rise to ensure the safety of the citizenry,” Sunday Igboho concluded in his denunciaiton of the bandits.
