The social media witnessed another dimension of football banter following the thrashing of FC Barcelona in the hands of German champions, Bayern Munich, on Friday night.

Bayern Munich humiliated Barcelona by an 8-2 score line to book a place in the semi-finals of the 2019/2020 UEFA Champions League.

The outcome of the match was one that bookmakers would have found difficult to predict for a match involving two of the best teams with ten Champions League trophies among them.

The halftime finished in a convincing 4-1 win for Bayern Munich, however the German machine refused to let go off the pedal, as they scored another four goals to make the tie end as a humiliation for Barcelona at 8-2.

Twitter has been greeted with hilarious conversations as many football lovers have taken to the microblogging platform, to further taunt the once invincible Barcelona.

The scoreline of the match, 8-2, has been translated to the statement, ‘hate to”, in a bid to make jest of Barcelona and their fans.
