Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne beat Southampton’s Danny Ings, Leicester’s Jamie Vardy, Burnley’s Nick Pope and Liverpool’s trio of Trent Alexander Arnold, Sadio Mane and skipper Jordan Henderson to the Premier League player of the season award.

Winning the award was well deserved for the Belgian playmaker who delivered 20 assists and scored 13 goals for Pep Guardiola’s outfit. Also, the award serves as a good consolation for the player who displayed sublime performances and equalled Thierry Henry’s Premier League assists record of 20 in a season.

On the other hand, it will also help him heal faster from the Champions League heartbreak after elimination by Lyon in the quarter-finals and losing the Premier League title to Liverpool.

Trent Alexander Arnold won the young player of the season award. The youngster was terrific as he recorded 13 assists. His pinpoint crosses have become his trademark in recent times. He was a major contributor to Liverpool’s title winning campaign.

While Jurgen Klopp emerged as the undisputed winner of the manager of the season award after leading Liverpool to their first title in 30 years in conjunction with a 99 points tally. He eased past Frank Lampard, Chris Wilder and Brendan Rodgers to win the award.
