Why Wike Stopped #EndSARS Protest In Rivers

The Rivers State Government has given reasons for banning #End SARS Campaign and protests in the state.

On Monday, the government in a statement signed by the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Paulinus Nsirim announced to the general public that all forms of protests have been banned throughout the State.

The government said it took the decision because the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, had already scrapped the Special Anti-Robbery Squad.

The statement said “Therefore, all proposed protests under #End SARS Campaign are hereby prohibited.

“Therefore, there is no need for any form of protest against a Unit of the Police Force that no longer exists.

The government urged Parents and Guardiansardians to ensure that their children or wards do not violate this order.

“Law enforcement agencies are also directed to ensure that the ban is enforced and that violators are brought to book,”

The EndSARS protests have rocked various cities across and beyond the shores of the country.

There are also claims that some of the protesters were killed by the security agencies.
