Cristiano Ronaldo’s two goals from the penalty spot inspired Juventus to a 3-0 victory over Barcelona at the Camp Nou to finish as winners of Group G.

Both teams had qualified earlier for the round of 16, but it was a clash between the two best footballers of this generation. The duo hadn’t clashed since Ronaldo left Real Madrid for Juventus.

Ronaldo scored his first Champions League goal at Camp Nou from the penalty spot in the 13th minute. He stole the show from an under pressure Lionel Messi.

Mckennie put Juventus in a safer position to earn three maximum points when he produced a moment of sheer quality with a scissor-kick. Going into the break, Ronaldo and Juventus had a well deserved two goal advantage over the Catalan giants.

Seven minutes after the restart, Cristiano Ronaldo got his second of the game from the penalty spot again. His two penalty goals brought the total number of goals scored against Barcelona to 14 which is the highest he has scored against any other club.

A fourth Juventus goal which was chalked off by the referee saved Barcelona, Ronald Koeman and Lionel Messi further embarrassment.

FC Barcelona’s skipper had a night to forget as his 11 shots in goal was his most in a game, albeit without hitting the net.

This is the first time Barcelona failed to top their Champions League group since the 2006-07 campaign, when they were eliminated in the round of 16 by Liverpool.
