How PDP Raked N356m From 16 Anambra Aspirants

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has raked in N356 million from the 16 aspirants who purchased the party’s forms for the Anambra State governorship election slated for November this yea.

 GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that each male candidate paid a total of N26 million to partake. It consisted of nomination form which was purchased for N20m, expression of interest N1m and compliance forms N5m.

There were 13 male aspirants who spent a total of N338 million to purchase forms to contest in the party’s Anambra governorship primaries.

Three Female Anambra Aspirants

The three female aspirants in the Anambra PDP race who were excluded according to the party’s tradition from paying for the nomination form, however, paid N1 million for the expression of interest form and N5 million for the compliance form.

 GreenWhiteGreen GWG had reported that 10 of the 16 aspirants were screened on Monday by the screening panel constituted for the Anambra primary. The remaining six aspirants are expected to be screened on Tuesday.

The aspirants who were screened on Tuesday included Anambra Central Senatorial District, Senator Uche Ekwunife; aviation tycoon, Dr. Obiora Okonkwo; lawmaker representing Nnewi South/Nnewi North/Ekwusigo federal constituency,  Hon. Chris Azubogu and Architect Winston Udeh.

Also screened were Dr. Tony Nwoye who rejoined the party four months ago and beat the party’s requirements for membership; Valentine Ozigbo, Godwin Ezeemo, Emeka Etiaba, Mrs. Chidi Onyemelukwe, Godwin Maduka, Mrs. Ekwochi Genevieve, Dr. Ifedi Okwena, Ugochukwu Uba,  and Walter Ubaka Okeke.

Sources say that the party has made a commitment to be fair in the process and expectation is being tilted towards three of the aspirants who according to sources are spread across the three senatorial zones.

Sources say that one aspirant from the North, another from the central and a lady from the South senatorial district are among the aspirants on whom permutations are being put to win the party’s ticket for the Anambra governorship election.
