Lady Abandons 2-Year Old Girl In Delta Church

A little girl believed to be over 2 years has been abandoned by a yet to be identified woman at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Akumazi Umuocha in Ika North East Local Government Area of  Delta State.

Expressing shock over the action of the child’s mother; the Priest in charge of the Parish, Reverend Fr. Peter Nwakwu said that children are gifts from God and must be taken care of no matter the circumstances.

The Priest further said that he went for a meeting at Issele-Uku, a town in Delta State and was informed about the discovery when he returned. He immediately reported the incident to the Police in Umunede.

Rev. Peter explained that a Police Officer was assigned to accompany him take the child to Asaba, where she was handed over to an orphanage home.
