Suspected Nigerian Drug Trafficker Held In India

The Indian authorities on Monday night apprehended a suspected Nigerian drug trafficker, David Chibuike Chisom alias Eze Chukwebuka Joshua.

The accused whose age was not given was apprehended by the operatives of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) during a raid in Goa, India, an official of the NCB said on Tuesday, September 7.

The suspect, David Chibuike Chisom according to the official was nabbed near a hotel in Arpora on Calangute-Mapusa Road in North Goa on Monday night.

Incriminating evidence found on him during a search, by the team were recovered. Among the substances recovered from him were 11 blots of LSD (commercial quantity) an indeterminate quantity of cocaine from the accused.

“Upon receiving inputs that a Nigerian national named David is involved in supplying various drugs like LSD, coke, ecstasy etc in and around Parra and Arpora area, the NCB had launched a special drive for identification of David from the last two days”, said Sameer Wankhede, Zonal Director, NCB, Mumbai and Goa.

The arrest of the accused follows the spurt of activity by officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA in Nigeria which has also been making spirited efforts in apprehending drug traffickers operating in the country.

 GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that the activities of the NDLEA have received renewed energy since the appointment of Gen. Buba Marwa as the head of the agency earlier in the year and the nabbing of the suspected Nigerian drug trafficker is believed to be part of the synergy.
