Chieftains of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Bauchi State have disowned Governor Mohammed Abubakar as the party’s governorship candidate saying that there was no primary organized where he emerged even as they alleged that he is not an indigene of the state.

The stakeholders including two governorship aspirants on the platform of the party said that even the report of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC proved it that there was no primary conducted in the state.

The two governorship aspirants who spoke at the press conference in Abuja were Captain Bala Jibril and a former Minister of Police Affairs Dr. Ibrahim Lame.

They also called on President Muhammadu Buhari to ignore attempts by the governor to lobby him using emirs and other traditional rulers as they insisted that 90% of the indigenes of the state would not vote for the governor who they accused of channeling the state’s resources to his associates from other states.

Dr. Lame said: “It is despicable that most of the patronage accruing from the state are given to non indigenes especially from Kano and Gombe States including exclusively the family members of Gov. Abubakar

“We frown at the attempt by the governor to politicize our revered Emirs. We are therefore calling on President Muhammadu Buhari, to ignore all the antics of Governor MA Abubakar, as his sole aim of bringing our Emirs is to plead for his second term.

“To the citizens of Bauchi state, we urge you to rise to the occasion by rejecting Governor M.A. Abubakar in the 2019 election for non performance, arrogance and plundering the wealth of the state.”
