INEC, APC Officials In Stand-Off In Akpabio’s LGA

A standoff is presently ongoing at the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC collation centre in Essien Udim Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State between election officials and agents of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

The APC officials were said to have arrived the collation centre in a white coaster bus allegedly provided by a former governor of the state with INEC officials who had earlier been taken away to a secret place. They were said to have returned in the coaster bus provided by the former governor (name withheld) with election materials and result sheets.

However, the materials and results have been refused to be allowed into the collation centre. The APC officials and the former governor are insisting that the materials be admitted but the INEC officials are refusing and were making efforts to reinforce security.
