Hours after it was published that five former ministers were still listed on the website of the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, OSGF, corrections have been effected on the website.

Another controversy immediately swirled around the website as it emerged that the website which reportedly cost N64 million when it was unveiled by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha in May 2018 does not have a security certificate. The SSL certificate is a global indication that a website is secured and is not easily prone to attack. It confers legitimacy on a website.

It is not known why the builders of the multimillion naira website did not put the SSL certificate on the website. The website www.osgf.gov.ng on opening on the left side of the address menu indicates to any visitor that “it is not secure,” putting a credibility question on the website and the office.

Five former ministers who left the federal cabinet months ago were as at Thursday night still listed on the website.

The five former ministers who were still listed as serving as at Thursday night were Kayode Fayemi (Solid Minerals Development), Kemi Adeosun (Finance), Aisha Alhassan (Women Affairs and Social Development); Khadija Abba-Ibrahim, (Minister of State for Foreign Affairs) and Ibrahim Jibril, (Minister of State for Environment).

Although consultancy was listed in the cost of the construction of the multi-million naira website, the fact that the site was not maintained was on Friday raising issues about the funding for the project.

By Friday afternoon when gwg.ng checked on the website the website had been updated to reflect the present configuration of the website indicative of the fact that the website had not been regularly updated before the expose published by The Punch.
