Honouring Kingibe Was A Betrayal Of June 12 – Enoidem, PDP Nat. Legal Adviser

National legal adviser of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Emmanuel Enoidem has said that the sanctity of June 12 has been desecrated by the actions of the present administration including  the honour given to Ambassador Babagana Kingibe.

Speaking to reporters in an interview in Uyo, Enoidem said the decision of President Muhammadu Buhari to honour Kingibe was especially illogical as he said the former running mate betrayed the mandate.

“The sanctity of the 29^th day of May has come to stay and there is nothing anybody can do about it. It is like somebody is trying to play black politics.

“I can still remember the fact that we had a free and fair election and I was a part of the election supporting M.K.O Abiola.

“A lot of people betrayed that election process. An example is Ambassador Babagana  Kingibe who was Abiola’s running mate. He abandoned the mandate before the cock crew, yet he was honoured. For me, that was a major dent on whatever intention the government had about June 12. I am not a fan of June 12 celebration anymore, especially under the present administration, because this is one government that has not been very sincere to Nigerians.”
