Islamic Cleric Remanded In Prison For Defiling 5-Year-Old Female Arabic Student

A 43 year old Islamic cleric, Abdulsalam Salaudeen is to stay in prison till October 14 after he was arraigned before an Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court for defiling a five year old girl inside a mosque.

The cleric popularly known as Alfa was caught red handed through the use of a hidden surveillance camera that was planted in the mosque after his activities had become suspicious.

The child who was not named was incidentally a pupil in Salaudeen’s Islamic school.

The offence allegedly occurred at Olorungbebe Mosque in the Igando area of Lagos.

The Islamic cleric who pleaded not guilty was remanded in prison custody pending trial upon the submission of the prosecuting counsel, Ms T. Olanrewaju-Dawodu.
