Man City Has Triggered Rodri’s Transfer – Atletico

Man City are set to sign Rodri from Atletico Madrid for a transfer record of £62.6m after activating his release clause, Atletico confirmed today via an official statement. When the deal is finalised, the 23 year old will be Pep’s first summer acquisition.

It is believed that Rodri is being lined as a successor to aging Fernadinho. City are looking for a defender to replace former captain Vincent Kompany who is now a player/coach at Anderlecht.

Harry Maguire is in City’s wish list, but the Manchester side would have to cough out big money for him as Leicester is not prepared to sell cheap. The club had earlier turned down a £70m bid from Manchester United.
