Sex Toy Shop Fight: Thousands Sign Petition For Senator’s Prosecution

A petition to the police to prosecute Senator Elisha Abbo is gathering steam with thousands signing the petition.

Senator Abbo was shown to have battered a nursing mother in a sex toy shop in a viral video that has been circulating online.

The Senate and the police have launched investigations into the mater.

The petition which is also addressed to the Senate and Amnesty International was launched on Tuesday morning by Daniel Adebayo with the aim of getting 5,000 signatories.

However, within two hours the target had been reached and the target raised to 10,000 which was also reached before morning and following which it was moved to 25,000 and that mark was also reached and the present target has been set to 50,000.

As at 3.40 p.m. on Wednesday, 38,752 persons had signed the online petition.

The petition read thus:

Senate Elisha Abbo, who has benefitted from #notTooYoungToRun movement and voted in as the youngest senator in Nigeria has acted irresponsibly by assaulting a helpless and defenseless nursing mother without provocation.

As a senator he is meant to be responsible, protect the right of Nigerians, instead, he chooses to abuse and molest a defenseless citizen.

His behaviour is abhorrent, completely unacceptable and totally condemnable.

I am appealing to Nigerians to help sign this petition, so that he can be prosecuted and brought to justice, as this will serve as a deterrent to others who might want to abuse power and perpetrate similar acts
