Four Reasons Igbo Cannot Be President In 2023 – APC Organising Scribe

The claim by the National Organising Secretary of the All Progressives APC, Emma Ibediro that the aspiration by the Southeast for the presidency in 2023 on the platform of the party is a wild goose chase has come as a revelation to many.

The assertion by the highest ranking Igbo office holder in the APC national executive may, however, not have been surprising to others.

He gave four reasons why the Igbo 2023 presidency aspiration is a mirage.

They include:

  • South East region returned the lowest amount of votes for the president among the six geopolitical zones, in the just concluded 2019 elections. 
  • The inability of APC members in the South East to work with members from other regions to achieve the confident to become a president.
  • Ndigbo lack the bargaining power to negotiate for 2023 Presidency, considering their present inputs.
  • The Southeast is unable to align her interests with other regions remain a mitigating factor for Igbo presidency.
