Police Make Arrest In Killing Of Afenifere Leader’s Daughter

Some suspects have been apprehended by investigators probing the murder of Mrs. Funke Olakunrin, the police announced in Akure, Ondo State on Monday evening.

Details of the persons were, however, not given by the police in the announcement made by the Ondo State Police Command spokesman, Femi Joseph.

He disclosed that the arrest followed round the clock engagements by the command to apprehend the murders who snuffed life out of Mrs. Olakunrin, daughter of Pa Rueben Fasaronti, the leader of Afenifere, the apex Yoruba socio cultural group.

“We have made a lot of arrest on this matter, but we are doing the screening of those arrested to know who among them the culprits are.

“By the time we finish the screening, we will let the world know the perpetrators. As I said, a number of people have been arrested and when it is time we shall parade the suspects.”
