The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and its 2019 presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar on Tuesday poured praises on Governor Seyi Makinde for showing leadership by example in making a public declaration of his assets as promised before the election.

They claimed that the governor with his action shown that integrity was not a matter of lip service.

Makinde became the first political office holder in the country to make public his assets declaration form as certified by the Code of Conduct Bureau on Monday. It was revealed that he is worth N48 billion in cash and assets.

Lauding the governor, the PDP’s National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondinyan in a statement said:

“The PDP is assured that this stance will further endear him to the people of Oyo State as well as showcase our party as a party whose members make their words their bond.

“In this regard, the PDP is in no doubt as to Governor Makinde’s commitment and ability to deliver good governance and the much-expected development to the people of Oyo state

“The PDP also encourages leaders at all levels to strive to remain faithful to promises they might have made in the course of electioneering campaigns.”

Atiku in a similar bid in a statement issued on his behalf by his media adviser, Mr. Paul Ibe said that integrity was not something to be bandied by words but in action.

“The governor, by this action, demonstrates that integrity is not a mere lip homage but a consistent course of action of an individual doing as they promised.”
