COZA: Biodun Fatoyinbo Drags Dakolos To Police As DIG Takes Over Probe

The Deputy Inspector General of Police, Operations, Michael Ogbizi is to take over the investigations of the allegation of rape lodged against Biodun Fatoyinbo, the global senior pastor of COZA it was announced on Monday.

The announcement came as it emerged that Fatoyinbo has also lodged a complaint against the Dakolos. Details of the petition against the Dakolos was not known.

Fatoyinbo had immediately the bubble burst vowed to sue the Dakolos and anyone else alleging impropreity as raised by Busola Dakolol against him.

The Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu who gave the directive for the takeover has also asked for rigorous interrogation of the process that was used in serving the Dakolos an invitation to appear before the police.

Busola Dakolo, the celebrity photographer and wife of the music star, Timi Dakolo had alleged that she was raped as a teenager by Fatoyinbo.

Dakolo had last weekend complained that the investigation was not getting traction and complained over what he feared was an abduction plot against him at the weekend by people who later emerged to be policemen.

Observing the IGP’s intervention into the matter on Monday, Force spokesman, Frank Mba said:

“In a bid to ensure a speedy, thorough, fair and impartial investigation into the case of rape reported by Mrs Busola Dakolo against Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), the Inspector–General of Police, IGP Mohammed Adamu, has ordered the Deputy Inspector-General of Police (DIG) in charge of the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID), DIG Michael Ogbizi, fdc to immediately take-over the on-going investigations. 

“The DIG is also expected to take over the investigation of the complaint made by Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo against the Dakolos in addition to providing a personal supervision to all facets of the investigation to ensure justice and fair-hearing to all the parties, with each case being treated purely on its merit. 

“In the same vein, the IGP has directed that the procedure which the Police operatives adopted in serving Invitation Letters on Timi and Busola Dakolo on Saturday, 20th July, 2019, be subjected to rigorous and discreet scrutiny to ascertain its conformity with Police Standard Operating Procedure and International Best Practices. 

“While enjoining the general public and the parties involved in the cases to remain calm and patient, the IGP assures of unalloyed Police professionalism in the matter.”
