Akinwunmi Ambode has denied claims of his imminent exit from the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC on account of the fact that he was passed over in the nomination of ministers.

Squelching online news reports of his imminent defection to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP he said the reports were masterminded by mischief makers out to further impugn his name.

Ambode became the first sitting governor of Lagos State to be denied a second term by his party and had been largely believed to have been penciled down for a ministerial appointment. However, his name was not included when the ministerial list was released last week.

Affirming that he remained in the APC, his spokesman, Habib Haruna in a statement late on Monday said:

“We enjoin the general public, particularly Lagosians to disregard the planted news by some faceless and mischievous individuals in some unknown blogs, who are hell bent on creating acrimonious situation, spreading fake news that the immediate past governor of Lagos State, HE. Akinwunmi Ambode has dumped the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) for the PDP.

“The news is fake. The former governor is firmly a member of APC, working in his own capacity to see that the progressive ideas and the next level agenda of President Buhari succeed”.
