Governor Seriake Dickson has assured Bayelsans that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP is on course to re-enact its winning spree with Senator Douye Diri as the party’s standard bearer in the forthcoming governorship election.

Governor Dickson made the assertion this during a live media chat in Government House Yenagoa on Monday.

He equally assured that the PDP campaign would be issue based and criticized members of his party who are defecting saying they were only doing it for selfish reasons.

According to Governor the defections were blown out of proportion and expressed optimism that their actions would not affect the chances of the PDP during the upcoming elections.

He said that the relationship between him and Chief Timipre Sylva remains that of political adversaries.

He said that he had extended a hand of friendship to Chief Sylva, a former governor ad present minister of petroleum, but it has not been reciprocated emphasizing that Chief Sylva is not his enemy.

He also commented on the perceived rumour with Mr. Tonye Isenah, the speaker of the State House of Assembly, dismissing it as untrue since he has a cordial relationship with the speaker.

On the rumor of his alleged move to be in the Senate, Governor Dickson cautioned on the over sensationalization of the issue saying for him it is not a do or die affair as he hopes to go into teaching or possibly go back to his farms.
