Police Arrests Suspect In 2017 Killing Of Three Police Officers, Ogba Zoo Manager

The Edo Police Command has arrested a key suspect in the killing of three policemen and the kidnap of the manager of Ogba zoo, Benin in 2017.
The state Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Danballam said this while responding to questions from newsmen on Tuesday in Benin.
He said that the suspect had confessed to the crime and was now helping the command in its investigation.

The police had earlier in 2017 paraded three suspects who were also allegedly involved in the incident.

He said the command had also arrested a 53 years old woman for allegedly operating an illegal hospital, where unwholesome medical practices, like abortion, were carried out.
He added that some implicating items and tolls were recovered from the woman.

The CP further disclosed that about three persons died in the cult clash that occurred at Auchi Polytechnic said the clash did not occur in Auchi adding that the command would take necessary measures to eradicate cultism in the state as normalcy has been restored to the town.
