Senator Ifeanyi Ubah on Monday lampooned those who accused him of certificate forgery as mischievous persons ignorant of his academic qualifications.

Ubah spoke at a press conference in Abuja as details of his secondary school results emerged. The billionaire businessman according to a letter from the National Examination Council, NECO passed seven of the eight subjects he sat for in the 2003 result.

The only subject he failed was Biology in which he scored an F9. He got credits in all others.

Dismissing the High Court judgment that sacked him from the Senate upon the allegations of  forgery among others, Ubah while insisting that the judgment will not stand said:

“It is also a well-known fact that I submitted my certificate to INEC and not my statement of result. It is very obvious that those trying to malign Senator Ifeanyi Ubah are mischievous and ignorant elements who do not understand the difference between a “certificate of result” and “statement of result” because over 20 million Nigerians are aware of the fact that this practice is not only obtainable in NECO, but WAEC also.

“This is because certificates are honorariums which shouldn’t carry failed subjects, as opposed to the statement of results which only serve record purposes in the institution(s) database.”

According to the letter written to Ubah’s party, Young Progressives Party, YPP, Ubah sat for the 2003 examination conducted by the body and came out with the following result:

English Language (C6), Mathematics (C6), Government (C6),  Economics (C5), Literature in English (C5),  Commerce (C5)  and Christian Religious Studies (C6).

Biology in which he scored F9 according to NECO was not listed because Ubah failed the subject.
