Arrested Armed Herdsmen From Kano Say They Came To Hunt In Ekiti!

13 armed herdsmen from Kano who claimed to have arrived Ekiti State for a hunting expedition have been remanded in jail for unlawful possession of firearms and suspected kidnapping.

The 13 Fulani men arraigned gave their names as Abubakar Ali, Salisu Isah, Okasa Musa, Yususa Sani, Abu Magaji, Umar Magaji, Adamu Shelihu, Umar Sefiu, Sale Musa, Mustapha Usman, Musa Isah, Mutaka Wa and Usman Abubakar.

The police prosecutor, Inspector Johnson Okunade submitted to the court that the men were found with dangerous weapons including guns and criminal charms and alleged that they conspired to kidnap people in Emure-Ekiti.

He further submitted that the herdsmen claimed to have come from Kano to Ekiti to hunt.

Chief Magistrate Adesoji Adegboye ordered the men to be remanded in prison custody and adjourned the case until Feb 25 for mention.
