IG Orders Probe Of Footballer’s Death

The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu has ordered an investigation into the murder of Tiamiyu Kazeem (popularly known as Kaka) a player of Remo Stars, who was allegedly killed by an officer of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), on Saturday.

The death of Kazeem has generated outrage across several sectors of the polity with an online, campaign, #EndSARS launched over the weekend, and protests in Sagamu in Ogun State, on Monday.

Adamu, reacting to the protests, called on the deputy inspector-general of police in charge federal criminal investigation department to probe the killing of the footballer.

Recall that the police had earlier said Kazeem was hit by a speeding car, while trying to escape from them.

The Nigeria Police Force, on its official Twitter handle, in a series of tweets,  tweeted:
