Coronavirus: Global Campaign To Cancel Everything!

Following the disruptions of social, political and economic activities around the world occasioned by the outbreak of Covid-19 (Coronavirus), social media users around the globe are demanding for cancellation of all forms of activities.

Twitter users around the globe are trending the hashtag #CancelEverything with about 100,000 tweets.

Since the beginning of the outbreak of the virus, starting from Wuhan in China, it has spread across several nations with about 4,717 deaths, as at the time of filing this report.

The outbreak of Coronavirus has led to the cancellation and postponement of several activities and gatherings in the World – sports, concert, and sporting activities have suffered setbacks as a result of the fear of Coronavirus.

Also, the global economy is suffering setbacks as a result of Coronavirus. Oil prices have dropped, the aviation industry has been hit by setback, and importation and exportation of goods have been restricted.

On Wednesday, the World Health Organization labelled Coronavirus as a pandemic.

President Donald Trump of the United States has also placed a 30-day travel ban on Europe, to curtail the spread of the virus, as Italy has the highest number of victims in Europe.

Most of the football leagues in Europe have also suspended football matches for the moment, while NBA has indefinitely suspend basketball matches for the season.

Twitter users are already calling for cancellation of all events.
