Wike Vs FG: IGP Redeploys Rivers ComPol
The face-off between Governor Nyesom Wike and federal authorities took a new turn on Friday evening as the Inspector General of Police Mr. Muhammed Adamu ordered the immediate redeployment of the state commissioner of police, Dandaura Mustapha.
He is to be replaced by Mr. Joseph Mukan, Force Public Relations Officer, Frank Mba said in a statement on Friday.
Mustapha has been redeployed to Force Headquarters as commissioner of police, Provost Office.
GreenWhiteGreen reports that the redeployment follows the altercation between Governor Wike and federal authorities over the executive order by Wike forbidding movement in and out of the state.
The state government is presently prosecuting two pilots of Caverton Helicopters and passengers following their breach of the order.
On Thursday the state authorities also arrested 22 staff of ExxonMobil for supposedly entering the state against the order.
The federal authorities are believed to be peeved that the governor is being assisted by the police in his actions.
