Kano Mourns As Emir Dies At 74

The spate of death in Kano continued on Saturday after Dr. Abubakar Tafida Ila, the emir of Rano, one of the emirates carved out of Kano emirate passed away.

The emir died at the Nassarawa Specialist Hospital in Kano after he was rushed to the hospital on Friday. He was aged 74.

The death of the emir further heightens anxiety over the spate of death in the state that has seen some of the state’s most illustrious persons succumbing to the cold hands of death in recent days.

The emir leaves behind two wives and 17 children.
