COVID-19 Officially Arrives C/River, Now In All States

Cross River State officially entered the list of COVID-19 affected states in the country on Monday when the state reported five cases of the pandemic.

With it all states in the country have now been officially affected by the pandemic which first touched arrived the country last February.

 575 new cases of the pandemic were reported in 19 states of the country and the FCT. Lagos had the highest number of cases with 123 cases representing 21% of the cases and was followed by the FCT with 100 new cases, Delta 58 and Edo, 52 new cases.

The 575 new cases brought the total number of cases in the country to 29,286 with 11,828 persons fully recovered from the pandemic. Nine mortalities on Monday brought the total number of deaths to 654 deaths.

COVID-19 Arrives Cross River, Two UCTH Staff Test Positive

It could not be confirmed by GWG if the five cases reported in Cross River State were on Monday or the five cases earlier diagnosed by the University of Calabar last week.

This website had reported that the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital had diagnosed five cases of COVID-19 from samples collected in the hospital including from two staff.

The NCDC in its report for Monday stated thus:
