A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Olabode George, has questioned the moral basis of Justice Ayo Salami, a former President of the Court of Appeal chairing the Presidential panel to investigating Ibrahim Magu, the suspended Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

George said in a chat with Daily Independent, that Justice Salami is unfit to chair the panel based on his antecedents.

“On the panel set up to investigate Magu headed by Justice Ayo Salami, I believe he is not fit to head that panel”.

“There are more qualified retired justices with integrity who can be entrusted with that responsibility by the Presidency”

“We know Justice Salami’s antecedents and I say he who must come to equity must come with clean hands”.

Justice Salami was controversially removed under by the Goodluck Jonathan administration.

He was suspended on August 18, 2011, partly based on his refusal to be elevated to the Supreme Court, and also, on his decision to address the media, accusing the former CJN, Mr. Katsina-Alu, of attempting to interfere in the Sokoto governorship election case that was before the Court of Appeal.
