Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State has vowed to use the nation’s laws to tame aggressors called ‘lions and tigers’ that may be sponsored to cause violence during the forthcoming election.

The governor said this during the Ward 10 campaign rally in Opoji, Esan Central Local Government Area of the state.

His comment comes weeks after candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Osagie Ize-Iyamu, in the election was seen addressing suspected hoodlums code-named ‘lions and tigers’ in a viral video.

While urging PDP members and supporters not to succumb to threats, Obaseki said, “We will tame the lions and tigers in Edo State with relevant laws of our country.”

He assured residents of the area that “adequate security would be provided on election day.”

The governor promised to construct the Opoji-Irrua Road and attract more development to the area if re-elected.
