APC Move: Ebonyi Senators, Reps Disown Umahi

Members of the National Assembly delegation from Ebonyi State on Wednesday described Dave Umahi’s defection to the All Progressives Congress, APC as a selfish move on his part as they vowed not to follow him.

Addressing a press conference in the National Assembly complex, Senator Sam Egwu said that the reasons given by the governor for defecting were selfish and unacceptable to them.

Egwu, a former governor of the state who is also the leader of the state’s caucus who read a statement on behalf of the other legislators said that none of them would go with the governor to his new party.

Before now, GWG had gathered of efforts by the governor to woo members of the state delegation to the National Assembly to follow with him but many of them apparently pulled back from the plot.
