Adoni Bezek’s Conscience

And Adonibezek said, Threescore and ten kings, having their thumbs and their great toes cut off, gathered their meat under my table: as I have done, so God HATH requited me. Judges 1:7.

President Adoni Bezek had reigned all these years with impunity without consideration of God and His people.

However, now brought to his wits end, as his thumbs and toes are cut off, he now considered and thought of God.

All those years before now he reigned with impunity and “God was not in ALL his thoughts.” Psalm 10:4.

That was until he came to this situation where his thumbs and toes were cut off that he could no longer war, walk and work!

Unlike several of us, this man had a conscience that spoke to him at this point. His conscience told him and reminded him of the evils he had done in the past.

Perhaps he was remorseful at this point, but it had become too late.

May we not get to the point where our encounter with God would have become too late for us in certain areas of life.

That too many abortions, too much drinking, too much philandering, a divorce or too much of evil would have crippled any one of us that we can no longer walk, work or war in the land God has earmarked for us.
