How Erue Caused Our Crises In Delta APC – Ogboru

Erstwhile governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Delta State, Olorogun Great Ogboru has accused the chairman of the state caretaker committee, Prophet Jones Erue of being the cause of the crises in the Delta State chapter of the party. According to Ogboru, Erue caused the crises now bedeviling the state chapter

Ogboru made the allegations as a riposte to his absence at the Wednesday stakeholders’ meeting of the party in Asaba.

The stakeholders’ meeting attended by the South-South leader of the party, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege was held to prepare grounds for the forthcoming registration of party members.

Ogboru’s absence has strengthened insinuations that Omo-Agege’s troubleshooting exercise to party leaders in the state may not have been totally successful.

In a letter to the national chairman of the national caretaker committee, Ogboru fingered his erstwhile ally Erue as the cause of the crises in the party.

Ogboru, Erue and Omo-Agege were together on one side when former state leader Olorogun Otega Emerhor was displaced during the Adams Oshiomhole era.

But following the disagreement between Omo-Agege and Ogboru, the state chairman aligned with the Deputy President of the Senate drawing the ire of Ogboru, a six-time governorship candidate.

Ogboru who accused Erue of having caused the crises in the party through refusing to swear in all the members of the State Working Committee into the caretaker committee also accused the chairman of being selective in the inauguration of the local government area executives.

According to Ogboru, “he refused to swear in the deputy state chairman, state secretary, woman leader, youth leader, the chairman for south senatorial district and the state publicity secretary. Not only that, 7 LGA chairmen and 8 LGA secretaries where not sworn in as directed by NEC.”

In his recommendations to solve the perennial crises in the party, Ogboru said:

“To avoid the perennial crisis in the state, it is recommended that Jones must be sanctioned for dereliction of duty, gross indiscipline and serial disregard to the position of NEC, the party and the party’s constitution. This is a very serious  offence that calls for his removal as caretaker chairman forth with.

“Get a new caretaker from a called meeting of the party’s caucus. Use the caucus members as a college to elect a caretaker chairman. Only eligible caucus members from Delta State will vote or be voted for. This meeting should take place at the national secretariat. The national chairman or secretary is in a veritable position to call or chair this meeting.”

Erue could not be reached as his known phone line was not available at the time of publication.
