Truth Is Bitter, You Are Omo-Agege’s Houseboys – Keyamo Group Replies Erue’s Delta APC Exco

The gloves were off on Wednesday in the supremacy contest in the Delta State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC as the Festus Keyamo led stream descended on the Ovie Omo-Agege tendency accusing the rival leadership of  fretting at what it claimed was the truth that they were houseboys and house girls of the Deputy President of the Senate.

The Keyamo inclined factional chairman of the party Hon. Silas Buowe in a statement made available to  GreenWhiteGreen GWG put the crisis in the state on the head of Omo-Agege, the deputy president of the Senate, who it accused of having a secret desire to return as President of the Senate and not as governor as widely believed.

The assertion came after the Omo-Agege inspired leadership had castigated Olorogun Keyamo as a Whatsapp politician who had turned party loyalty on its head. Prophet Jones Erue, the chairman of the Omo-Agege inclined leadership had particularly fumed over the claim by Keyamo that the yet-to-be inaugurated Omeni Sobotie led state executive of the party comprised of houseboys and house girls of Omo-Agege.

Erue had subsequently described Keyamo who parades Chief Great Ogboru, Engr. Victor Ochei, Dr. Cairo Ojougboh, Dr. Alex Ideh, Dr. Mrs. Mariam Ali among others as a juvenile in politics.

GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that the Omo-Agege led leadership was believed to have triumphed in the contest of wills at the state congresses after its slate of candidates took control of the state executives at all levels.

But responding to Erue who the Keyamo faction of the party described as an errand boy of Omo-Agege, the factional chairman, Hon. Silas Buowe in the statement signed on his behalf by his media assistant, Eririoma Genesis said:

“The publication, as usual, is nothing but the voice of Jacob and the hand of Esau. The APC Delta is not unaware of the divide and rule antics and tactics of the Deputy Senate President and his co-travelers who refused to join the arrangement of the Council of Leaders put together by the CECPC of the Party and rather decided to undemocratically foist his aides  and other loyalists as Chairman and factional exco of the Party to destabilize APC Delta.

“The Deputy Senate President and his co travelers must stop seeing politics from the prism of their warped game of lies, deceit and chicanery.  Festus Keyamo, SAN, has a rich history of saying the truth the way it is. Telling lies, being deceitful and being a pathetic double-crossing personality to desperately get to public office are not the virtues of the honest person that Keyamo is reputed to be.

“Yes ! We realize that the truth hurts and we are glad their reaction indicates they got the message loud and clear. It would be a day-dream for anyone to think he can shut up the ever-outspoken Minister who has a rich history of fighting injustice. That is his style, and no amount of mudslinging would change that.

“It was this same style of his outspokenness that he used to join forces to fight the military that saw him sojourn in so many detention centres and that brought about democracy that some people want to destroy with their style of deceit and mace-snatching. One wonders where these characters were in the world and what they were up to when Mr. Keyamo was in the trenches in Nigeria fighting for democracy.”

While accusing the Omo-Agege group of betraying Olorogun Great Ogboru in a deal with the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in the 2019 election, the Keyamo led APC faction said:

“The party is aware of his newest grand design to enter into another unholy alliance with the PDP to trade away the APC in the entire state to enable him return to the Senate to become Senate president as his purported Governorship ambition is only a ploy to disorganize the APC in the State in order to fulfill his selfish desires.

“Senator Omo-Agege should be reminded that political experience is not the act of years of jumping aimlessly from one party to another as he is known to have been doing until he was refuged in a tent he now desperately seeks to destroy.

“Olorogun Festus Keyamo SAN, unlike him, is a man of truth, who speaks the truth without fear or favour and as a founding member of the APC from Delta State he has dedicated his life to helping the APC at all levels.

“Olorogun Festus Keyamo, SAN, contributed immensely to the victory of President Buhari when he was appointed as the Director of Strategic Communications (Official Spokesperson) of the 2019 re-election bid of the President.

“Keyamo doesn’t believe in hijacking party structures, ceasing party election forms and giving party offices to his aides and loyalists as Prophet Jones Erue-led Interim Executives was used by their principal the Senator Ovie Omo-Agege to execute leading to the crisis in the party. He believes everyone in the party should be given a level-playing field to participate actively in the political process.

“Having seen the progress being made by the Delta State APC Leaders Council which comprises of all notable leaders of the party in repositioning the party, they have become more upset and decide to embark on another fruitless round of media campaign of calumny as part of their survival strategy and to save their faces from the shame of being lonely in the scheme of things.

“After the failed circulation of a purported fake list of APC State Chairmen to try to deceive Delta APC members to whip up unnecessary sentiments in an attempt to woo people to their illegal faction, they have now turned to their ever-willing tool of division and backwardness, Prophet Jones Erue, who, as a Chairman of the party in the State for eight years, could not even win his Ward in any election so far. For 8 years, he was only a willing tool used to issue such provocative and divisive statements.

“As party Chairman, Jones could not, for once, lead the party to win elections neither was he even able to call a meeting to bring people together. The Isoko South Constituency 1 bye-election held in September, 2021, was the last straw that broke the camel’s back on his political journey as he had only 1 vote which was his personal vote in his unit at Emede, Isoko South L.G.A, of Delta State.”
